When you're putting up a new barn, the doors aren't an afterthought. They're one of the first things you see, and they do a lot of the heavy lifting - both functionally and aesthetically. Getting them right matters.
This build came together really well. The log siding, stone base, and green metal roof already gave it a strong, structured look. The goal was to find doors that fit that character without fighting it. Four custom doors in a warm brown finish ended up being the right call - they blend naturally with the wood tones while still holding their own as a visual anchor across the front of the building.
That's really the challenge with barn and outbuilding installs. You're not just picking a door off a spec sheet. You're thinking about the scale of the opening, how the color reads against the exterior materials, and how the door will hold up to the kind of use a working barn gets. Each of those four bays needed to function independently, so the hardware and installation had to be done right across the board.
We do a lot of these new construction installs, and the thing we hear most from property owners is that they wish they had thought about the doors earlier in the planning process. Door size, header clearance, rough opening dimensions - all of that needs to be figured out before the framing goes up, not after. Getting us involved early makes the whole thing a lot smoother.
Whether you're in the middle of a new build or looking to upgrade doors on an existing structure, we're happy to walk through the options with you. There's no one-size-fits-all answer, and that's exactly why the consultation matters.
